The Hershey Library Hallway hanging schedule has been approved by the Library through June 2012.  Please make a note of the following put up and take down dates.  I will be at the library from 9:30 - 11:00 on

Saturday, October 29th (put up/take down art) for November and December.
Saturday, December 17th (put up/take down art) for January and February.
Saturday, February 25th (put up/take down art) for March and April
Saturday, April 28th (put up/take down art) for May and June
Saturday,  June 30th (take down art)
No art will be displayed during July and August.

The hanging fee will be $2 per painting, with a limit of 2 paintings per person.  Please check the website for Hanging Guidelines and further information, such as each painting must have wire on the back. no exposed glass edges etc.

I hope more of our members will participate in this opportunity to display your art as it does get noticed by the public, and the library staff has made many positive comments.

The display will be changed every two months.  By the way, this Hallway Exhibit does not include the cases in the lobby.  That is a separate exhibit.  Your Chairperson is Sharon Solie (ssolie@paonline.com or 717-964-2336) for the Hallway exhibit.  Connie Davis is the Chair for the glass cases in the lobby, and you may contact her at conniescreations@comcast.net or 717-469-7233.

Please read the following HANGING GUIDELINES:

Delivery/Takedown time is 9:30 - 11:00 AM for all dates - be as prompt as you can out of respect for everyone involved.
IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE DELIVERY'/TAKEDOWN TIMES, PLEASE FIND SOMEONE TO BRING/TAKE YOUR PAINTING FOR YOU.

SIGNUPS:
We will accept no more than 30 participants.  The rest will be waitlisted and be first on the list for the next hallway show.
Deadline or signups for shows is one week or so prior to each show delivery/takedown date.
If you signup and decide to cancel, please notify the Chairs.
Your dues must be current to exhibit.
We will be in touch with those of you on the signup list closer to the dates of the shows.

SALES:
Paintings may be marked for sale or marked NFS.
Sales will not be handled by the library staff, and paintings will not be stored or handled in any way by the staff.
You will be responsible for your own sales (like the Hershey Medical Center shows for those who are familiar).
Please put your contact/sales information on the front or back of the painting for those interested in purchasing your work.

COMMISSION AND FEE:
A $2 fee will be charged for each piece hung, and will be collected the day of delivery (please bring exact cash if possible).  If you are using a check, make it payable to Hershey Area Art Association.  If you sell a piece you may replace it with another and no extra fee will be charged.

The library is asking a 10% commission on all sales.  Please send your commission check to the library (made out to the library) in a timely fashion and include a note telling what it is for.

TYPE OF ARTWORK:
Only original two-dimensional work will be accepted.  Depending on the number of signups, no more than 1 or 2 pieces because at this time we only have 40 hooks.

Work must be framed (no exposed glass edges), wired, and ready to hang.  No overly large or very heavy pieces will be accepted and odd-sized pieces (such as very long and narrow) are hard to hang.  Some of you are not prolific painters.  You may alternate the same pieces every other show.  The Chairs of the show have the right to refuse work.

LIABILITY:
The LIBRARY OR HAAA is not responsible for theft or damage to artwork.  Check the Now You Know policies in this newsletter.

Please contact Sharon Solie at ssolie@paonline.com to sign-up or if you have any questions.

Thank you for your participation in this and other exhibits.
